Our New Tradition: Crowning Ceremony Day

Elliette Maree's
Crowning Ceremony

The day before the crowning ceremony Elliette and I made cupcakes.
She did all the work mixing, baking & decorating them.
The cupcakes were for the dessert party following the ceremony.
Elliette was baptized during the service this morning.
We had our crowning ceremony this afternoon.
We began the ceremony with Elliette on the balcony.
The family was gathered at the bottom of the stairs as the readings were read.
The reading was as follows:
God made you special, Elliette.
Jeremiah 1:5 says, "I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my spokesman for the world."
God loved you even before you were born. He made you special. He loved you so much that he died for your sins. Elliette, He made you beautiful brown eyes. He made you to be a good dancer, actor and singer. He made you to be a fabulous entertainer. He made your curly black hair and your beautiful brown skin. God made you this way, even before you were born. He knew everything about you. He made you just the way you are. You are very special. You bring joy to so many people. There may be things you don't like about yourself as you get older, but the bible says you were "wonderfully made." Don't forget- God made you just as he wants you to be. God loves you even though you aren't perfect. He loves you even though you have faults and weaknesses. God's love is perfect, unconditional and forever.
Remember, God knew you before you were born. He thought about you and planned for you. When you feel sad, lonely or unpopular- remember that God thinks you are valuable and he has a purpose for your life. God's mission for you and for all belivers is to love, obey and serve Him. If you do that, you will be ready for everything that He wants you to do in the future.
Pray.
Elliette comes down the stairs.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
The bible says in Romans 6:23, "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of god is eternal life in christ Jesus our Lord. When Jesus was crucified on the cross all of our sins and sins of the world were placed on Jesus and He paid the price of death for our sins. Then three days later, He rose from the dead and is now sitting at the right hand of the Father! He did not stay dead!
Romans 10:9 "Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
John 1:12 "yet to all who receive Him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."
Elliette, because you have confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believed in your heart that God raised him from the dead, I crown you princess. You are a child of the King of Kings. You are HIS princess!
Crowning Elliette
Elliette, you are so special to God. God is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. When you decided to follow Him and His Son, Jesus, you became his daughter. You became a true princess. You are not a pretend princess. Your reign is for real because your are a daughter of the King!
You are very important in God's Kingdom. He loves you so much and He wants you to talk to you every day. He wants to talk to you through his Word, the bible and he wants you to talk to Him in prayer.
God chose you before you were even born to be His princess. We are all so very happy that you have now chosen Him. God has amazing plans for you, both for now and when you grow up. remember, a crown and a palace do not make you a true princess- it is your love for God and for others that will make you special. If you read God's word, the bible, He will teach you all you need to know about living like a daughter of the King.
Elliette, it's time to take off your princess in training wreath and receive your crown- because you are a real princess now.
Remember, you are not a pretend princess. You are a real princess- the daughter of the King of Kings. I pray you will always remember that and that you will follow God and His Son Jesus all the days of your life.
Daddy had a gift for Elliette. It's a beautiful picture of her praying in her 'crowning gown'.
It was made into a pendant on a necklace.
She just lit up when he gave it to her!
